This autumn marks the 300th anniversary of the final battle of the man who was arguably the most famous pirate who ever lived. The Blackbeard 300 will take place in Bath, North Carolina — his home town — the weekend of Oct. 19-20, 2018.
And Blackbeard wasn’t the only one from Bath. Some of his men show up by name in town records after they were erroneously reported as having been hanged in Virginia, and others were from families with prominent Bath Town surnames.
There’s no need for me to reinvent the wheel by doing a write-up on this once-in-a-lifetime event here. Instead, let me encourage you to visit the website for the official Blackbeard 300 Tricentennial Event.
